H1N1 Flu Virus
It is important members and the public are informed on how best to protect themselves against H1N1 Flu.
These simple steps include: frequent handwashing; coughing and sneezing into your arm/sleeve; getting an annual flu vaccination; and staying home when sick.
The Canadian Public Health Agency highlights additional information including a Fact Sheet and FAQ's on how best to prepare for this outbreak.

NANB Celebrates NNW 2009
National Nursing Week (NNW) takes place May 11-17, 2009. This year's theme is Nursing:You can't live without it! Chapters around the province are celebrating NNW - don't miss the fun! Visit NANB's NNW Calendar of Events for details.
In addition, members participated in NANB's poster competition and defined what this year's theme meant to them. Several submissions were received and the Grand Prize Winner was Katherine Brinson of Moncton, NB.

This year's AGM & Conference will highlight our theme of 'Registered Nurses: Moving forward.....creating solutions.' 1,500 members participated in NANB's Strategic Planning Process. The results of these findings will be presented during the business session of the AGM on June 3rd at the Delta Hotel in Fredericton. The winner of the draw from participants in the web based survey for a free 2010 registration (or cash equivalent) will be announced at that time.
Conference Day guest speakers include: New Brunswick's own Judith Oulton speaking about the future of nursing; Martine Mayrand Leclerc to discuss quality work environments; Linda Desrochers on optimizing nursing role effectiveness; Patsy Smith presenting working through a job and system re-design; and Irmajean Bajnok delivering best practice guidelines.
