NB RNs Receive Prestigious Centennial Award

The Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) presented its Centennial Awards to 100 very special nurses at a ceremony in Ottawa. The event was part of the association’s year- long program of activities created to mark its 100th anniversary.

The Centennial Awards were created to honour exceptional registered nurses whose work has had a positive impact on nursing and on the lives and health of Canadians. Recipients were nominated for the one-time-only award by their peers as a recognition of their contributions to the profession, the workplace and the health system.

The award winners from New Brunswick are: Liette Clément, Douglas; Yolande LePage-Cyr, Edmundston; Daniel Savoie, Moncton; Lois Scott, Shediac; Linda Silas, Ottawa; Elizabeth Sparks, Riverview; and Linda Varner, Memramcook.

NANB AGM, Conference & Awards Banquet

NANB's AGM, Conference & Awards Banquet will be held on June 3rd & 4th at the Delta Hotel, Fredericton. This year's theme is Registered nurses: Moving forward...creating solutions. For details on the agenda, guest speakers and a pre-registration form, visit NANB's web site.

A call for resolutions is also underway. Resolutions presented by the general membership according to the prescribed deadline, March 11, 2009, will be voted on by the general membership.
